Tivoli
Tivoli is an internationally known amusement park located in the center of Copenhagen, and by far the most visited tourist attraction in Denmark. Tivoli was founded in 1843 by Georg Carstensen.
Among the most famous rides are Tivoli’s wooden roller coaster which was build in 1914 and is one of the oldest wooden roller coasters still functioning in the world.
And the Pantomime Theatre, which was built in 1874 and which in season daily have pantomime performances with the four characters Harlequin, Columbine, Cassander and Pierrot.
But it does not stop at the many thousands beautiful flowers, the beautiful lighting and spectacular fireworks. Tivoli also offers Friday Rock and concerts on Plænen with some of the greatest artists, theater, dance – and of course the many good restaurants.
Tivoli has about 4 million visitors per year divided into three seasons: the summer season, Halloween in Tivoli and Christmas in Tivoli.
